I was born in 1955 in Wallsend, Newcastle upon Tyne. Growing up in a largely industrial area of Newcastle my early inspiration came from pictures in books and perhaps more significantly, from the yearly trips I made with my family to Eyemouth, where I began to share in my father's passion and enthusiasm for wildlife and the natural environment.
At thirteen, I attended Kings College Art School at Newcastle University, where I was invited to attend classes to refine and develop my skills.
In 1985 I moved with my husband and two children to Argyll. Moving to this rural area was a dream come true and provided me with a never-ending source of inspiration.
I have since moved to a beautiful part of the Scottish Borders near Hawick and invite people to contact me and arrange a meeting with me at my studio.
